How can you help to reach unreached peoples with the Gospel?
In light of the unfathomable need—the innumerable host of unreached peoples that sit in darkness—what should be our response?
As a Christian, you may be wondering, “What can I do about the unreached peoples of this world? What part can I play in helping them be reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?”
I believe our response should echo the Apostle Paul’s response on the Damascus road: “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”
Here are three concurrent responses that I believe should be at least part of our response to the great needs of the unreached peoples in our world:
1. PRAISE & THANKSGIVING TO OUR GOD
- For giving us His complete Word in our English language. “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
- For allowing us to hear the Gospel and receive the free gift of salvation offered through His Son, Jesus Christ.
2. PRAYER
- “Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2).
- The harvest is great—far too great and weighty for us to accurately deal with and comprehend as finite human beings.
- The laborers are few.
- Our responsibility: Prayer — “Lord, send forth laborers into Your harvest.”
- We cannot honestly pray this prayer without first being willing to go ourselves.
- Too often, I believe we place far too little emphasis on this command in our lives!
3. PRESENT YOUR BODY TO THE LORD AS A LIVING SACRIFICE
- “FATHER, WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?”
- Be completely submitted to the Lord’s will for your life. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1).
- Have the attitude of “whatever, wherever, whenever.” “Lord, whatever You want me to do…I am willing to do it. Wherever You want me to go…I am willing to go there. Whenever You want me to go…I am willing to leave at a moment’s notice.”
- GIVE
- Give your time to the Lord—every day, wake up and give your entire day into the Lord’s hands.
- Give your talents to the Lord.
- Give liberally of the money the Lord has given you to the ministry of your local church and to the work of world-wide missions. Here is a good Biblical principle for giving: “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
- GO
- Continually be seeking to share the Gospel with those in your family, in your class, at your workplace, etc.—those that you interact with on a daily basis.
- Go out into your neighborhood and town and seek to share the Gospel with those around you.
- Go on short-term missions trips.
- Be willing to go to any foreign field and serve there for life.
